Chef cooks up Dog & Duck!

Bracknell Manics were to play Dog & Duck in a preperation game for the final in what was their league game. Dog & Duck came to the Crem for revenge after last games 4-1 win to the Manics.

Mark Robertson earnt his first start of the season, and Glenn Evans beefed up the defence who were missing Tony Hemley and David Fenton from previous games. James Blackman played at the back on the left, Ryan Millward played inside with Brian Judge. The midfield stayed the same and Milner was as usual up front.

At the start both teams played some good football, testing eachothers midfields, and passing the ball about well. It was tight for the first 20 minutes of play but soon the Manics went ahead through Ryan Millward.

A corner was won on the 25th minute and David Comper took. Leaping like a salmon, Ryan rose at the back post to head the ball into the net.

Dog & Duck scored from a corner soon after on the 35th minute. When the ball was delivered it bounced in the box over Brian Judge and the Dog & Duck player had a free header in the 6 yard box to make the score level.

Just before the end of the half Dog & Duck went ahead. On the 42nd minute, A long pass through the midfield was run on to by a Dog & Duck forward who scored.

In the second half, Manics came back to make it 2-2 after 11 minutes. A long ball from Millward bounced, and Milner did well to take a man out of play. Robertson was there in space and nodded the ball past the keeper.

On the 17th minute, Dog and Duck went ahead again. From a corner, the ball was put in low and hard, and taking a deflection, the Dog & Duck got in front of Brian Judge to score the goal.

The Manics soaked up a good 15 minutes of pressure as Dog & Duck pushed for another goal, making a substitution on the 24th minute.

4 minutes later, the Manics equalised through Gary Sarney. Glenn Evans cut out the ball in midfield, and played a through ball to Goddard. A low cross was put into the box, and Robertson shot. It was blocked and Gary Sarney did well to get the ball into the net past the wall of defenders on the goal line to make it 3-3.

The Manics pressed on, and soon enough the goal came for the Manics. Elliott Fairs won a free kick in the Dog & Duck half, and James Blackman stepped up to take with Glenn Evans. James Blackman did a step over the ball and then Glenn Evans hit the ball long and high towards the back post over the keeper and into the net.

The Manics held out to the final whistle to win the game 4-3.
