Manics Finish Leisure Nice and Quick
BMFC took on Corporate Leisure in another league game.
With injuries, Manics put out a fairly different side to the norm, with Andy Impey in goal, Joel Curran as left back, Ryan Millward and Brian Judge in the center, and Lee Wilcox on as right back. In midfield, Aaron Goddard filled the middle with Gary Sarney, with Alan Morris on the left wing, and Glenn Evans on the right wing. Paul Milner and Mark Robertson played up front.
The Manics went straight to work, scoring in the first 8 minutes of play. Mark Robertson made the effort to get the ball into the box, and Alan Morris laid off the ball to Sarney to score.
2 minutes later and the Manics scored the second. Some nice passing play up through the center of the pitch, then Mark Robertson put Milner through to score.
On the 19th minute, the Manics got the third goal in the game. In front of goal, Brian Judges shot was stopped by a defender, as was Morris', but Millward was at hand to put the ball in the net to make it 3-0.
Just before the end of the first half, Lee Wilcox made a tackle, winning the ball before passing to Gary Sarney, who put Robertson through to score the fourth goal before half time.
In the second half, Corporate Leisure brought on two new players , in a hope to get back into the game.
The Manics pressed on going for another goal. After 10 minutes, Goddard fancied his chances from outside the box, but his shot hit the bar. 2 minutes later, and Joel Curran's hit the post after a handball just outside the box gave away a free kick.
Lee Wilcox would have to come off on the 19th minute due to injury, and Luke Phillips would get his time out on the pitch.
On the 27th minute, Joel Curran's strike found the back of the net to make it 5-0. After some great passing passing play, the cleared ball was picked up by Curran who took one look before burying the ball in the net.
5 minutes later and two more substitutions were made. Alan Morris came off, Curran moved up to the left wing, and James Blackman came on to play as left back. The second substitution would be a straight swop; Mark Robertson came off for Chris Wilson.
8 minutes after Wilson came on he had a golden opportunity to score. Having taken the keeper the wrong way, wilson had only a defender to beat. Staying on his feet, the defender tackled Wilson and cleared the ball from danger.
The final whistle blew leaving this result in the Manics favour, 5-0 FT.
