BMW stop Manics unbeaten Run
Bracknell Manics
took on BMW again in the league for another 3 points, in their
final league game.
The line-up looked positive, with James Robinson back in goal,
Joel Curran, Brian Judge, Ryan Millward and Glenn Evans forming
the defence. The midifeld was the same four, David Comper, Elliott
Fairs, Gary Sarney, and Aaron Goddard; with Mark Robertson back
up front with Paul Milner.
Manics scored the first after 3 minutes of play. Soaking up pressure
from the BMW team, Bracknell Manics won a corner soon after.
Glenn Evans went up to take, and Ryan Millward scored to make
it 1-0 to the Manics.
4 minutes later the Manics took a hit when Glenn Evans had to
come off due to injury. Luke Phillips came on to fill his spot
as right back.
On the 15th minute, Bracknell Manics stretched their lead to
2-0. Paul MIlner recieved the ball from a through and played
a great through ball to Aswad who at full stretch, put the ball
past the keeper into the roof of the net.
Soon after a second substitution had to be made. Joel Curran
was the second Manic to come off, and James Blackman came on
in his place.
On the 30th minute BMW got a goal back. A corner was won, and
a low ball was delivered into the box. The ball was flicked off
of Goddard and took a deflection by Luke Phillips at the back
post before going in.
In the second half, BMW began to fight back.
After 6 minutes, BMW got the equaliser when the BMW winger ran
past two Manics defenders, and put a low ball through to the
forward to tap in.
Then the frustration began to take its turn as the skies opened
and a hail of ran fell on the pitch. The match became scrappy
and mistakes began to be made by both sides.
The Manics struggled to get into the game, and BMW pressured
the Manics, creating a good number of chances on goal.
On the 10th minute the 3rd substitution was made as Gary Sarney
would come off injured. Aaron Goddard would play in his place
as captain, and Alan Morris came on on the right wing.
The Manics were given a penalty on the 25th minute when Mark
Robertson was pulled down in the box. Paul Milner stepped up
to take, but hit the penalty against and then over the bar.
10 minutes later, BMW scored the winner. From a goal kick, David
Comper's header went backwards into the Manic half. Judge picked
up the ball and trying to clear, miss kicked it straight to the
BMW forward, who hit on the outside of his right foot, over Robinson
and into the net.
2 minutes after, Paul Milner was booked for a bad challenge,
and then decent, and for the remainder of the game, the Manics
fought on. But it was all too late as the final score ended 3-2
to BMW.
Unlucky
for the Manics this week, who struggled to get into the game,
but thanks to all the support who turned up to watch.
