A hungover, but strong Manics XI went out to take another 3 points,
but underestimated thier opponents this week.
Soaking up pressure from the start, the Manics slowly built up
their play, but United always looked dangerous with their clumsy
'long ball' style of play. .
Bracknell Manics took the lead mid point in the first half. David
Fenton scored his first goal for the club this season from a
Glenn Evans free kick. A high ball was sent to the back post
and the poor marking from Ascot United gave Fenton an easy tap
in at point blank range. Fenton did well though, making good
contact with the ball, the keeper had no chance..
One substitution was made at the break, this time Elliott Fairs
was brought on for Aaron Goddard.
But Ascot United seemed to want the game more, and Manics almost
went to sleep. The Manics went 2-1 down soon after, conceding
two weak goals. Glenn Evans was injured with 15 minutes remaining,
and Lee Wilcox came on.
It was then that Manics fought back but by then it was too late,
and the full time whistle went leaving the Manics with a few
more than just headaches on their minds...
Thanks
to the fans who came to support, but was it worth it???. Let's
hope the Manic's can pick up on this performance.
The Manics Man of the Match went to Tony Hemley.
