BMW were a man down in this game against BMFC, the first goal
came early on in the game, scored by Joel Curran. David Comper
opened fire on goal, but the keeper saved. Joel Curran followed
up the ball which the keeper spilled to make it 1-0.
Joel Curran scored the second goal, taking the ball round BMW's
keeper after a fine through ball from Mark Robertson.
The third goal came from Curran, making his hatrick in the first
twelve minutes of play. Mark Robertson delivered a cross into
the box which the keeper fumbled, for an easy tap in for Curran
to make it 3-0.
A substitute was made in the second half, Mark Robertson again
finding his injury a strain, but Barry O'Connell came on to silence
critics after last weekend's performance and once again prove
himself in the Manics shirt.
It wasn't long before more goals came; O'Connell was at hand
to lay the ball off to Sarney who shot left footed into the net.
Joel Curran scored his fourth minutes later, intercepting a pass
near the halfway line, and lobbing the keeper from 35 yards.
The next goal was a superb piece from the Manic team, quick movement
of the ball - Fairs began the nice play, passing to O'Connell,
who then passed to Graham McDonald, who then tee'd it up for
Fairs to slot it home.
It was 7-0 when Sarney scored another trademark goal. This long
shot was on target this time and there was no stopping it as
Sarney hit the strike from far out leaving the keeper no chance.
O'Connell then added further to his goal tally with 2 late goals,
both scored from corners and both headers, with O'Connell proving
to be quite a handful in the air.
The final whistle blew with the game firmly in the Manics hands;
a 9-0 performance, putting the Manics 2nd in the league and only
a point behind 1st place AFC Dukes with a game in hand!
Well done
to the Manics on an outstanding performance! Thanks to the supporters
who came to watch...
The Manics Man of the Match went to Joel Curran.
