Bracknell Manics were pinned down at the start, for the first
10 minutes of the game, 3M seemed invincible, as they ploughed
on the pressure and went for an early goal.
But Manics would be first to score; Joel Curran was again on
target. James Blackman assisted the goal with a swooping ball
up the wing, and Curran to cut inside and score.
On the 30th minute, Gary Sarney tucked away his third penalty
of the season, after Paul Milner was brought down inside the
box.
A minute later and Curran would have to leave the field of play
due to a bad challenge. David Comper switched to the left, and
Goddard would come on to play in his last season's role again
of right midfield.
No sooner had this happened, when Comper scored the third. Glenn
Evans switched play and set Comper of on a run who hit early
spotting 3M's keeper off the line, and lobbing him from 30 yards.
Then Manics twisted the knife with a superb strike from Mark
Robertson. Goddard flicked the ball on for Robertson to run onto
the ball. Robertson shrugged the defender off and hit the ball
sweetly into the net at a tight angle.
At half time Blackman was substituted, and Evans switched to
the left, which meant Luke Phillips would fill the right back
slot.
The second half was better fought with both sides having chances.
3M got a consolation goal within 10 minutes of the second half.
Barry O'Connell came on in a straight swap after 15 minutes of
play in the second, in order to give a tired Robertson a rest
from his hard work.
James Robinson made a great save from a free kick on the 30th
minute, tipping the ball over the bar. The Manics had plenty
of chances to score in the remainder of the game, but the score
was to stay 4-1 to the Manics.
A great
game to watch for the fans this week, thanks to the fans for
watching the game!
