Friendly vs AFC Bracknell - Result: Won 6-4
Two champions
clashed in this weekend's friendly between last season's division
4 champions AFC Bracknell, and last season's division 2 champions,
Bracknell Manics.
Both teams played well over the first ten minutes, but Bracknell
Manics slowly took the game to AFC Bracknell, scoring the opener
after 20 minutes, Gary Sarney the scorer. The Manics scored again
just 15 minutes later, this time David Comper laying the ball
off to Mark Robertson who showed good composure in front of goal
to make it two.
AFC hadn't given up though, and fought back at the end of the
half to make it 2-1.
In the second, both teams made changes; BMFC took off Barry O'Connell
and Aaron Goddard replacing them with Luke Phillips and Melvyn
Lane. Positions were swapped around on the field to see the difference
in football. Manics then made it 3-1 on the 55th minute when
Elliott Fairs steamed through AFC's midfield and defence before
taking the keeper on 1-1 to score.
Another substitution was made as John Haywood was swapped for
Graham McDonald. Following this, both teams began scoring as
AFC Bracknell and the Manics counter-attacked at every opportunity,
with goals flying in at both ends for an enjoyable game.
David Fenton, and Graham McDonald (2) scored the other goals,
whilst at the other end Manic's conceded a further 3 goals to
finish the game 6-4.
Well done
to our wonderful fans their support!
