Bracknell Manics showed grit and determination this weekend against a disciplined Dog & Partridge side.

Manics went off to a fine start, playing good football, and creating plenty of half chances in front of goal, the final ball was the only thing missing.

First to score was Mark Robertson, assisted by Gary Sarney for the goal. Then, it was a vicious tug of war; Dog & Partridge soon equalised, and put the pressure on the Manics. Before the break, Manics were 2-1 up with another Robertson goal, this time Barry O'Connell supplying.

At the break, it looked a little shaky, Manics knew they'd played good football in the first and that they just needed another to strengthen their grip on the three points. Dog & Partridge missed their forward Kettle this week, but there were still plenty of dangermen, with the Dog throwing players in at every opportunity for the goal.

And soon their equaliser came, after an offside was ruled off, Dog squeezed their equaliser home.

O'Connell would leave the pitch after Dog keeper came out to a 50-50. Manics made their first substitute, and Steve Dennaford would fill his slot. Manics free kick couldn't convert, but soon enough had a golden opportunity to take the lead...

This time Dennaford would be the one to receive treatment for another challenge on the Dog's part. A penalty was awarded and Mark Robertson would make it 3-2.

Manics made their second substitution, James Blackman on for David Comper and Joel Curran would push on in left midfield.

Robertson then scored the fourth - an individual effort, before being substituted for Nikos Patsalides in a straight swap.

Dog grabbed a late goal, but it was too late and Manics would hold on for the 3 points.

Thanks to the fans who came to watch the game!
