Manics Hit Back To Leave Blades
Furious
This Sunday saw the opening
game for Bracknell Manics Reserves who played Bracknell Blades at Calfridus
Way for their first home match.
The Manics dominated the game for the first 25 -30mins; David
Comper opened the scoring for the side, and shortly after Steve
Dennaford broke down the right into the 18 yard box were
he was brought down and awarded a penalty. Alan
Mattias stepped up and slotted in to make it 2-0.
However, Manics went to sleep in the last 15minutes and gave away two
free kicks with Blades scoring from both meaning both sides would end
the half at 2-2.
It got tough for the Manics at the start of the second conceding an own
goal and then conceding again soon after as Blades picked up on their
game. More
bad news followed as Steve Dennaford was brought off unable to run off
an injury from the first half. Manics were forced to change their formation
to 4-4-2 and Paul Miller came on to support the play.
But the substitute made a difference, and Manics leveled the score 4-4
by the full time whistle, in all fairness both teams deservedly earning
a point for their hard work in the second half.
Scorers: Comper (1) Mattias (2) Miller (1).
Assists: Dennaford (1) Miller (1).
The Manics Man
of the Match went to Tony Hemley & the Referee's player of the match
went to Ben Westwood.
