Manic Show Is Still On The Road
Again,
for another week an under strength Manics side, seeming to be the story
for this season, went out missing 6 key players this weekend against Ascot
Utd. In the previous encounter, Ascot and Manics both nicked a point in
a tough, well fought game.
Missing the players Manics called on reserves players to join the ranks,
and Gareth Evans would make his debut alongside Mark Gates - which turned
out to be the winning formula.
From the kick off it looked like the side had been playing together for
years and Manics took the lead early on from a well taken strike from
Harry Clowse on the 17th minute.
Manics made it 2-0 by the break, this time Lee Blackman
scoring after a great ball from Clowse was delivered across the box.
Ryan Warman did his bit just before the end of the first half, with a
goal line clearance to keep the side two goals ahead, but saying that
Ascot were creating chances with two free headers off target.
In the second half, Manics began to pressure the ball more, Barry Herman
and Gareth Jones both dominating the midfield. It wasn't long before Manics
scored more, Herman adding his name to the
scorers sheet on the 72nd minute and Clowse
scoring his second, cutting inside to score a great individual goal just
5 minutes later.
Captain Glenn Evans went on to score his
first and much needed goal too; and what a goal it was. More pressure
from the Manics resulted in winning a corner on the 79th minute. Evans
hang back and the clearance fell straight to him at 35 yards to belt home
like a rocket into the top right corner, surely a firm contender for goal
of the season.
Ascot pushed players on, and made changes, and a consolation goal was
scored by the club towards the end as a reward for the hard work to end
the game 5-1 to the Manics.
Bracknell Manics will be happy to have settled back to normal after last
weeks poor show against Priestwood, and with new signings back on the
books, things are starting to look up again!
