News is Weak - Injuries Rock
Manics in start to season
Bracknell
Manics were dissapointed to hear the news that Mark Robertson will be
out until Christmas this year due to a groin injury. Robertson has been
the squads top scorer for two consecutive seasons, and is a player the
first team will miss.
"Gutted..."
Not only this but also, last season's Player's Player, Simon Blay has
also been hit hard. Already suffering from a niggling back injury and
groin injury, its possible Simon Blay has damaged the ligaments in his
ankle as well meaning this could also have serious impact on the squad
in the new season.
"Squeak,
whats wrong with me..?"
Steve Leakey is another player with much misfortune this season. A recent
inspection revealed that Steve Leakey has ruptured his cruciate knee ligament
and it is very likely he will be out for two seasons after his operation.
"Sounds
like a nasty op. It has to be done though"
Barry O'Connell is another player recovering still from last season's
battering. With a pulled hamstring the fans and players at BMFC are hoping
O'Connell can be fit for next season's opening game.
"Buca?!?"
Last Seasons Referee's Player of the year Mark Gates is still trying to
shake off an annoying ankle injury.
"Its
alright, but it might keep me out"
And to top things off, Steve Dennaford has fractured his 4th manstable
bone in his foot, he'll be out for 4-5 weeks.
"Only
a knock, I'll be back before you know it"
Nevertheless, BMFC are determined
that they will still keep up momentum in the new season. Both the 1st
team and Reserves have started pre-season training and new signings are
already showing interest. With such a determined side, full of players
there's no reason why the Manics can be top draw again this season!
