see off Brave Manics
Bracknell
Manics faced an unstoppable Twigg side for the opening game.
Full credit has to be given to the Manics for a great 1st half
display, but missing from the line-up Mark gates, Barry O'Connell,
(both left the club) Mark Robertson, Jason Graaff, Tim Roake
and new signing Yusuke Yamada all injured, with Ryan Warman
unavailable due to a 'sky tv installation'; this had Sunday
morning romping written all over it.
But Manics could have taken the lead after just 15 minutes,
stand in Harry Clowse drilling a low, hard shot from just outside
the box. Well done to the Twiggs keeper tipping it around the
post for a corner. However, despite a good delivery, Manics
just couldn't seem to be rewarded, every time the Twigg clearing
from danger.
Havermans went into the book early on in the game, taking his
frustrations out on poor old David Fenton. Manics were intending
to take a team photo before the game, but decided not too after
Simon Blay mentioned this would only make the Twigg want to
nail the Manics harder during the game.
Despite the Manics heroic work, Manics conceded before the half,
which left Patsalides scratching his head with Manics surely
deserving at least one goal from the number of chances and corners
in the first.
Both sides made changes in the second half, but Twigg came out
better as they just would not stop attacking. Docherty scored
the second, a well taken penalty after a handball in the box
from stand in centre back Gareth Evans. Then some more great
movement by the Twigg earnt them a third and fourth before the
end.
