Manics Return Just The
Ticket
Bracknell
Manics faced up against 1st division Crowthorne Sunday and were
almost dealt a knock out blow. Crowthorne took an early 2 goal
lead one of which was a Ben Westwood own goal, leaving it up
to Manics to fight for the game. Hitting the post a couple of
times, Manics luck wasn’t with them in the second half,
until Ian Nelson bagged a brace
to level things up at 2-2. Full time came and the match goes
into extra time.
Manics
had the momentum and were rewarded with a further 2 goals in
the first half of extra time with Harry
Clowse and Gavin Baker netting.
Crowthorne didn’t give up though as Manics were reduced
to 10 men via injury for the 2nd half of extra time, and the
1st division team piled on the pressure, scoring once more and
striking the cross bar. So near yet so far for Crowthorne as
they are out of the cup at the hands of Manics and a 4-3 score
line after extra time.
