"Suddenly JC!"
- Joel Giblett In The Mood For Glory
Bracknell
Manics Res faced a neatly shaped Barton Rovers side during this
cup tie and were stunned early in the match. Having gone down
by 2 goals, Manics had to dig deep to claw their way back into
the match against a good passing side whom seemed to dominate
across the pitch. Changing things slightly, Manics closed down
the ball a lot quicker and stopped this passing play as they
began to stride back into contention. Having more of the ball
soon led to 2 goals before the break by Colin
Pike to make honours even at the interval.
Into
the 2nd half and Manics used the conditions to their favour
by notching a further 3 goals via David
Comper (2) and Joel Curran,
and with Barton only able to score a further 1 goal, this left
the Bracknell side with a comprehensive 5-3 victory and a place
in the 3rd round of the cup.
