Gary has a reputation
as an enforcer on the field, and manager, Nikos Patsalides will
look for him to exert both his presence and fighting spirit in
the Manic midfield.
In the Manics 2001-2002 season, he immediately impressed alongside
Elliott
Fairs
at the heart of the Manic's midfield, a partnership that has been
tipped to be the best for club for years to come.
For his excellent work in the clubs first competitive season,
Gary Sarney was awarded 'Manics Managers Player 2001-2002' and
he was also awarded 'Manics Runners-up Player's Player 2001-2002'.
In Sarney's second season, Sarney worked hard yet again to be
voted 'Manics Runners-up Manager's Player 2002-2003'.
Then in 2003-2004 Gary went on one more to be voted 'Manics Goal
of the Season 2003-2004' for his strike against 3M.
And again in 2004, renewed his contract with the club to deliver
another set of fine performances with 4 goals and 3 assists from
20 appearances. This season Gary Sarney will hope to break over
100 competitive appearances for the club, currently at 94 as he
enters his fifth year with the club.
In his 2005-2006 season, Gary Sarney played his remaining time
with the first team for his last time before he committed to the
Reserves in 2006-2007. Gary Sarney is now looking forward to his
first season with the newly promoted Reserves side in Division
Three.
Wherever he plays as long as the ace is in a Manic's shirt, the
fans won't care.
