Barry O'Connell
signed for the club's 2003-2004 season aiming to stamp his mark
in Manics history. The move to the club was always on the books,
as O'Connell has had strong links with the club since its early
days..
O'Connell is an asset by his ability to hold the ball up well,
and he could be the perfect partner for others to play off.
In his first season for the club, O'Connell scored 9 goals in
total for the club, in just seven appearances; and played a part
in the Manics winning division 2 in 2003.
In his second season, O'Connell first began playing centre back
as Manics missed a committed centre back. But it was soon realised
that O'Connell was badly missed up front; after his game against
Silver
Birch Wanderers, O'Connell remained up front and netted a
total 17 goals in the remainder of the season, setting up another
8 too.
Now O'Connell looks forward as he joins Bracknell Manics for his
third season as they enter the Premiership for the first time...
